81, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 2:24 AM, Saturday June 1, 2019 in the Heartland Christian Village of Neoga, Illinois. Carl was born March 19, 1938 in Lerna, Illinois the son of Edward and Martha Florence (Griffith) Swick. Mr. Swick married Frances Ripplinger, May 11, 1985 in Neoga, Illinois. He was employed at Young Radiator at Mattoon, Illinois for twenty years, and then retired after 10 years from P & H Manufacturing of Shelbyville, Illinois. Carl was in the National Guard and a member of Eagle's Club # 3438 of Mattoon, Illinois and the Coles County Farm Bureau. Carl leaves his special friend, Marcie Bingham (Brian)of Neoga, Illinois; ex wife, Frances Ripplinger of Mattoon, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by, parents; two brothers, Othel and Hershel Swick; and one sister, Ruby Akers.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 7, 2019 in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL, with Pastor Charles Bartlett Officiating. Military Services will be provided by the Neoga American Legion Post 458 following the service at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Songer Cemetery near Newton, Illinois.
