ALTA MAY PETERSON

89, of Effingham, Illinois passed away at 2:22 PM Monday, May 10, 2021 at her residence.  She was born February 21, 1932 in Effingham, Illinois the daughter of Charles E. and Anna H. (Bushue) Peterson.
Visitation will be Monday, May 17, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery.
 Alta took great pleasure in spending quality time with family and friends.  She graduated from Effingham High School in 1950.  After devoting 42 years with Country Companies she retired to enjoy gardening and bus trips.
Ms. Peterson is survived by several nieces and nephews who hold her deep in their hearts.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna; sister, Helen (Georgie) Staggs; brothers, Joe (Mary) Peterson and Harold (Eileen) Peterson.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or HSHS Hospice Care of Effingham.
