92, of Rural Neoga, Illinois passed away at 12:38 AM, Saturday July 4, 2020 in the HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. Aubrey was born October 1, 1927, in rural Shelby County, the son of Guy V. and Lola Maude (Brown) Storm. Mr. Storm was a farmer for over 50 years in the Neoga area. He married Barbara J. Miles, May 28, 1948 in Golden, Colorado. "Barb" passed away March 29, 2008. Aubrey served in the United States Air Force serving in WW II and Korean War where he got the nickname "Typhoon" from his buddies. For countless years, as a member of the Patriots Marching Color Guard, Aubrey could be seen leading and proudly carrying the American flag in various parades in surrounding communities. He was a lifetime member of both the American Legion Post 88 and the VFW Post 4325 of Mattoon; also, a member of the 40-8 veterans organization; the First Christian Church of Mattoon and a past member of the Neoga School Board. Aubrey is survived by his children, Linda (John) Curtner of Jacksonville, Florida, Sandy (Bill) Dougherty of Bristol, Tennessee, Cheryl (Steve) Ballinger of Mattoon, Illinois and Aubrey (Pam) Storm II of Neoga Illinois; Grandchildren: Ryan (Tiffany) Curtner: George (Stacie) Dougherty: Sarah (Matt) Korell: Cheri Coffman: Steve (Kyla) Ballinger: Lisa Ballinger: Ray (Kristi) Storm: Bryan Storm: Miles (Kiah) Storm and sixteen great grandchildren; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara; infant son, Danny Storm; granddaughter, Amanda Storm; great grandson, Garrison Coffman; sisters, Carma Snyder and Gail Higgins.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday July 7, 2020, in the Swengel O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois, with Pastor, Matt Korell officiating. Visitation 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Cochran Grove Cemetery in Ash Grove Twp, Shelby County, Illinois with Military Honors by the Mattoon V.F.W. Post 4325.
