Betty Lynn Ballinger 73 of Mattoon, Illinois, passed away at 12:50 AM Monday, February 21, 2022 in her residence. She was born October 24, 1948 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Wayne and B. Marguerite (Hinton) Sanders. She married Bill J. Ballinger October 1, 1982 in Decatur Illinois. Betty was a retired Financial Manager for the Soyland Power in Decatur, Illinois. She enjoyed remodeling houses, woodworking and decorating. Mrs. Ballinger is survived by her husband, Bill Ballinger of Mattoon, Illinois; sons, Bradley Ferguson of Decatur, Illinois, Billy Joe Ballinger, Jr. Of Decatur, Illinois and Cory Joe Ballinger of Decatur, Illinois; daughter, Amie Ballinger of Decatur, Illinois; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, William F. "Bill" Sanders of Decatur, Illinois; sisters, Dixie L. Mitchell (Gary) of Decatur, Illinois and Tracy Howard (Thomas) of Trilla, Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Wesley Gilmore.
As per Betty’s wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded and there is no public services scheduled at this time.
