CAROLYN ANN WILLIAMSON

92, of Westminster, Colorado formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away Friday morning, August 16, 2013, at her son's residence in Westminster, Colorado. Carolyn was born June 14, 1921, in Pana, Illinois, the daughter of John B, and Gertrude J. (Wullner) Kraus. She married George W. Dougherty, March 14, 1942, in Pana, Illinois. She and her husband George, owned and operated the Neoga News in Neoga for several years. George passed away October 31, 1971. Carolyn continued to operate the Neoga News for a few years until she retired and sold the business. Carolyn later married Claude J. Williamson, January 10, 1981, in Leeds, Alabama, and they made their home in Neoga and Toledo, Illinois. After Claude's death, on September 18, 2003, she went to Westminster, Colorado and made her home with her son and daughter-in-law. Mrs. Williamson leaves three sons, Bill Dougherty and his wife Sandy of Westminster, CO, Luke Williamson and his wife Charlene of McCalla, AL and Tommy Williamson and his wife Mary Ruth of Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, George Dougherty and his wife Stacie of Westminster, CO, Sarah Korell and her husband Matt of Taichung, Taiwan and Mark Williamson and his wife Laura of Birmingham, AL; five great grandchildren, Noah, Peter and Grace Dougherty, Abigail and Isaiah Korell. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, George W. Dougherty and Claude J. Williamson. Memorials can be made to Legacy Christian Fellowship, 9375 Gaylord Street, Thornton, CO 80229 noted as "Carolyn's Water Well". This will fund a water well in Carolyn's name to be drilled by World Vision in Niger, Africa. Her passing will give life to hundreds of children for generations to come. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 31, 2013, in the First Christian Church of Neoga with the Rev. Darin Hansen of Effingham, IL, officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M., to 3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the First Christian Church of Neoga. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery, Neoga, Illinois.
