28, of Mattoon, Illinois, formerly of Neoga, IL, passed away Thursday morning, December 29, 2011, at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Christopher was born February 24, 1983, in Coles County, IL, the son of Terry and Janice (Moody) Porter. Christopher married Tabbi Michels June 20, 2009 in Mattoon, IL. He was a sheet metal worker for Industrial Services of Mattoon, IL. Chris leaves his wife Tabbi Porter of Mattoon, IL; one son, William Porter at home; parents, Terry and Janice Porter of Neoga, IL; one sister, Amy Porter of Charleston, IL; two brothers, Jason Porter of Neoga, IL and Josh Porter of Indianapolis, IN: mother and father in law, Cecil and Tina Ochs of Olney, IL. Christopher was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union local 218 of Springfield, IL, He played on the Bears team in the Effingham Slow Pitch Softball League in Effingham, IL. He most enjoyed spending time with his son Will. And in his spare time he loved playing slow pitch softball, golfing and various other outdoor activities. Chris will be missed by many friends and his family. Through the Gift Of Hope Organ Donation his life will continue on and benefit others. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday January 3, 2012 at the Free Methodist Church in Neoga, IL with Rev. Steve Massengill of Neoga officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 2, 2012 with a prayer at 6:30 P.M., at the Free Methodist Church in Neoga, IL Burial will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Trowbridge, IL.
