CLARA E. (HOBSON) STILABOWER-ELGIN

Clara E. Stilabower-Elgin, 104, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 10:55 AM Saturday December 24, 2022 in the Heartland Senior Living Center in Neoga, Illinois.  She was born February 25, 1918 in Shelby County, Illinois the daughter of Emory and Kathryn (Ashenbremer) Hobson.  She married Kenneth Stilabower July 18, 1941 in St. Charles, Missouri he passed away February 16, 1978. She later married W. "Pat" Elgin September 3, 1994 in Toledo, Illinois he passed away December 18, 2008.   She was a member of the Effingham First Christian Church in Effingham, Illinois.  She loved crossword puzzles and her claim to fame at Heartland (among employees and other residents) is that she could recite the alphabet backwards!  Clara is survived by her son David Stilabower (Carolyn) of Neoga, Illinois; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by, husbands, Kenneth Stiabower and Pat Elgin; daughter, Patsy Altman; son Ronnie Stilabower; brothers, Charles Hobson: half brothers, Carl Blythe, Don Blythe and Reo Blythe; sisters, Opal Randle and Lucy Askins.

As per Clara’s wishes Cremation Rites were accorded and there will be a Graveside Service Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Neoga Memorial Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois.
