DALE THOMPSON Obituary

84, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 2:50 PM, Monday, February 15, 2021, at his daughters residence in Hidalgo, Illinois. He was born October 28, 1936, the son of Lloyd Olen and Lucy Ethel (Davis) Thompson in Shelby County, Illinois. Dale was a retired Truck Driver for Rural King in Mattoon, Illinois. He married Sarah Alice Kirkwood June 16, 1957, in Sullivan, Illinois, Sarah passed away October 5, 2020. Dale was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois. Mr Thompson is survived by his children, Steve Thompson (Connie) of Stewardson, Illinois, Johnny Thompson of Lyles, Tennessee, Scott Thompson (Patricia) of Bland, Missouri, Cathy Nichols (Ron) of Hidalgo, Illinois and Jeff Thompson (Cyndi) of Mattoon, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah; brothers, Robert Duane (Bonita) Thompson, Morris Dean (Marilyn) Thompson and John William (Janet) Thompson.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Lincolnland Hospice of Mattoon, Illinois.
As per Dale’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
