DANA LEE SCHUTTE

73, of rural Sigel, Illinois, passed away at 3:20 A. M., Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in the St. Anthony Memorial Hospital of Effingham, Illinois. Dana was born September 13, 1938, in Scott County, Virginia, the daughter of Daniel M. and Willie Lee ( Compton ) Dezarne. She was a member of the St. Michael, The Archangel Church of Sigel, Illinois. Dana married John H. Schutte, January 8, 1966, in Sigel, Illinois. She was a homemaker, a former employee of the Wal-Mart Store of Effingham, Illinois, and she enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors. Mrs. Schutte leaves her husband John of rural Sigel, Ill; one daughter, Valerie Wecker of Collinsville, Ill.; one daughter- in- law, Shelly Schutte of Sigel, Ill; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Schutte and Dillon Wecker; two step grandchildren, Brittany and Courtney Seaton. Mrs. Schutte was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Denise " Dee Dee " Schutte; one son, Brett Schutte; one sister, Helen Douglas and one brother, Wayne Dezarne. Memorials may be made to the St. Michael, The Archangel Church - Building Fund of Sigel, Ill., or to the American Cancer Association. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 14, 2012, in the St. Michael, The Archangel Church of Sigel, Illinois, with the Rev. Fr. Robert DeGrand of Sigel, and Sr. Pat Theis of Effingham, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P. M., Thursday, September 13, 2012, in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 P. M., Thursday, at the Funeral Home.
