David L. Perry, 80, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away peacefully Friday March 1, 2024 in his residence. He was born July 31, 1943 in Neoga, Illinois the son of Josie Perry. Dave married Amber Crawford, February 15, 1964 in Toledo, Illinois. Mr. Perry was a retired Millwright with local 1693 and recently received his 55 year for his union membership. He was a member of the United Grace Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners International Club. Dave was known far and wide in the fox dog training community as a accomplished trainer and had many " words of wisdom" and story teller by all who knew him. He also was a avid deer hunter and enjoyed reading western books. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Amber Perry of Neoga, Illinois; sons, Shane Perry and his special friend, Dianna Smyser both of Neoga, Illinois and Ed Perry of Neoga, Illinois and his special friend, Jackie Hammond of Effingham, Illinois; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josie Perry.
As per David’s wishes Cremation Rites were accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 27, 2024 in the Grace United Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois with Pastor Jim Whitaker officiating and Masonic Services by the Toledo Masonic Lodge. Following the memorial service there will be a Celebration Of Life at the Neoga American Legion in Neoga, Illinois also Saturday April 27, 2024 around 12:00 noon. .
Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
