DEAN ALAN SHAW

Dean Alan Shaw, 76 of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 12:27 PM Friday December 2, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign Illinois.  He was born August 22, 1946, in Arcola, Illinois the son of Wesley and Gertrude (Armour) Shaw.  Dean was a long-time resident of Neoga and was dedicated to a life of service.  He served on the Township Board, held several positions with the Neoga Volunteer Fire Department, worked as a Neoga Auxiliary Police Officer, and a Cumberland County Sheriff Deputy.  Dean retired from Mattoon Coca-Cola after 25 years of loyal service.  After retirement he was a security guard at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.  Dean enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, fishing, mowing his yard, and helping his nephew Ed farm.  Dean was a family man and loved his family immensely.  He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Connie Shaw, his son John Shaw (Susan) of Gays Illinois, daughters Jamie Brown (Brett) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jill Shaw (Justin Will) of Neoga Illinois; Grandchildren, Hannah Bray (Kyle), Luke Brown, Johnathon Shaw, Alivia Shuemaker, and Eli Shuemaker, and three great-grandchildren.  Dean was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Jackie Shaw, Max Shaw, and Joyce Voltenburg.  
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from  2:00-4:00 pm at the Neoga Fire Department.
