DOROTHY J. "DOT" (KAUFMAN) KINKELAAR

Dorothy  J. "Dot" Kinkelaar, age 86, of Neoga, Illinois, formerly of Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 1:43 pm at Heartland Senior Living on Friday, August 12, 2022.  She was born on January 2, 1936 in Sigel, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Gerbel) Kaufman.  Dot married Norman Clarence Kinkelaar October 22, 1960 in Sigel, Illinois.  Mr. Kinkelaar passed away October 27, 2008.  Mrs. Kinkelaar was a Housekeeper for HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.  Dot was a member of St. Michael, The Archangel Church in Sigel, Illinois,  Sigel American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies Sodality of St. Michael Church in Sigel, Illinois.  She is survived by her sons, David Kinkelaar (Laura) of Sigel, Illinois and Douglas Kinkelaar (Bobbi) of Dieterich, Illinois; daughters, Jane Jenkins (Ron) of Sullivan, Illinois and Ellen Strohl (Don) of Neoga, Illinois; nineteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; brothers, Louis Kaufman (Maxine) of Stewardson, Illinois and Don Kaufman of Sigel, Illinois; sister, Carolyn Hackman of Shumway, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.  Dot was preceded in death by her parents;  husband, Norman Kinkelaar; brother, Ray Kaufman; sisters, Shirley Vogt and Mary Sheehan.
Memorials are suggested to St. Michaels School in Sigel, Illinois.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in the St. Michael, The Archangel Church in Sigel, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday August 16, 2022 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm also in the church.  Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery in Sigel, Illinois.
