David L. "Luddy" Cameron

David L. "Luddy" Cameron of Neoga, Illinois passed away Sunday April 19, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. He was born February 17, 1952 at home in Neoga, Illinois the son of Wilbur and Doris Jean (Drennan) Cameron. He married Brenda Lamar on October 16, 1993 in Neoga, Illinois. Luddy was a local historian. He was a mason and carpenter by trade. Luddy was a proud member of the Local #171 Laborers Union. He was well known for doing numerous jobs around the surrounding area. His talent and skill has left a lasting mark on the community. 

Luddy is survived by is daughters, Shawna (Jerry) Beatty and TaJauna Jackson; sons, Eric (Joni) Cameron and Donte Blair; grandchildren, Josh (Alexandra) Kiest, Zach Blair, Megan (Dayne) Lohman, Tiara Williams, Brady Stockton, Peyton Beatty, Zakk Wilcoxon, Jasmine Williams, Anthony Cameron, Britney Lucas and Wil Cameron; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Diane (late Leon) Ooton and Mary (Doug) Tabbert; brother, Scott (Pam) Cameron; many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; great-grandchildren, Violet Kiest and Stephon Thompson Jr.; brother, Gary Cameron.

Per Luddy’s wishes he will be cremated and service will be private.
