EDWARD EUGENE BEYERS

Edward Eugene Beyers 80, of rural Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 8:40 AM Wednesday September 27, 2023 in his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born February 18, 1943 in Pana, Illinois the son of Lloyd A. and Lucille E. (Mickey) Beyers.  Ed married Linda Kortte October 26, 1968 in Effingham, Illinois.  Ed proudly served in the United States Army and was a retired Pressman for RR Donnelley & Sons in Mattoon, Illinois and also was a Bus Driver for Neoga Community District in Neoga, Illinois.  Ed was a member of the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Beyers of Neoga, Illinois; sons, Brent Edward Beyers of Nashville, Tennessee and Justin Eugene Beyers (Sara) of Effingham, Illinois; daughter, Brooke Ann Rennels (Josh) of Wildwood, Missouri; grandchildren, Dalton Beyers, Desmond Beyers, Miles Beyers, Cole Rennels, Kai Rennels and Lorelei Rennels; sister, Kathleen Walk of Neoga, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by, his parents; brother, Kenneth Beyers; brother in laws, Tom Walk and James Kortte.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday October 7, 2023 in the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois.  There will be Military Honors by the Neoga American Legion Post 458 after mass at the Church.  Ed always enjoyed gatherings of friends and family and in lieu of a visitation he requested a "real blow out".  There will be a celebration of his life at St. Mary Hall immediately following the Military Service.  
Interment will be in the Haven Of Rest Columbarium in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, Illinois at a later date.
