Frank Key Obituary

86 of rural Montrose, Illinois, passed away at 6:10 P. M., Saturday, November 12, 2011, in the St. Anthony Memorial Hospital of Effingham, Illinois. Frank was born March 15,1925, in Douglas County, Illinois, the son of Charles Henry and Minnie Marie ( Lawrence ) Key. Grandparents, Frank Thomas and Minnie Mae ( Frank ) Key, Clarence Wesley and Sophia Jane ( Higgins ) Lawrence. Frank married Ella Mae Gaskill on December 30, 1953, in Mattoon, IL. Frank was a World War II veteran, he served in the United States Army from August 3,1943 until April 6,1946. He was a member of the School Board for Grove Grade School and was a former employee of the Illinois Central Railroad, Garwood Manufacturing Co., both of Mattoon, he was also employed by the Oliver Company of Shelbyville for fifteen years, The Blaw-Knox Company of Mattoon. In 1971 he quit to farm. Frank retired from farming in 1990. Mr. Key enjoyed his grand children and watching sports on the Television and he also enjoyed working and visiting with his family and friends. Mr. Key leaves his wife, Ella May Key of Montrose, II; two sons, Terry Lee Key and wife Barbara, Keith Eugene Key and wife Coreana all of Montrose, IL; four grandchildren, Maria Kathryn Spiker and husband Eric, Anthony Lee Key and wife Megan, Douglas Key and wife Kate, Stacy Key; one step grandchild, Kyle Armstrong; three great grandchildren, Daniel Lee, Ryan Gene, Mitchell James Spiker. Three brothers, Charles Gene Key and wife Norma, Arthur Wayne Key and wife Judy and Richard Allen Key and wife Patricia. Two sisters, Wilma Joyce Price and Charlotte Marie Simpson; thirty-eight nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Roberta, Ida Mae and Norma; one brother Carl; four nieces, one nephew, one grand nephew one grand niece, seven brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws. Memorials to Donors Choice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M., Tuesday, November 15, 2011, in the Swengel -O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, IL with the Rev. Fr. Vernon Olmer of Teutopolis, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2011, until service time at the funeral home.
