HENRY H. OVERMYER

81, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 11:05 A.M., Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Neoga Twp., Cumberland County, Illinois. Henry was born January 5, 1932, in Neoga, Illinois, the son of Grant and Jennie ( Scoles ) Overmyer. He graduated from the Neoga High School, and served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. Henry married Sharon Oday, July 16, 1964, in Mattoon, Illinois, and Sharon passed away March 16, 2001. He was employed at Young Radiator of Mattoon for thirty years and he retired from the Blaw-Knox Company of Mattoon, Illinois. He was a member of the U.A.W. # 1262, Young's Radiator Co., and U.A.W. # 916 of the Blaw-Knox Co., Neoga American Legion Post # 458 of Neoga. Henry enjoyed working on small engines and lawnmowers. Henry also enjoyed visiting with his friends and neighbors. Henry leaves, one daughter, Melissa Mince and husband Edward R. of Mattoon, IL; three brothers, Amos Overmyer of Mattoon, IL, Raymond Overmyer and wife Ruth of Champaign, IL and Paul Overmyer and wife Sandra of Spring Hill, FL; five sisters, Lenora Swanner of Burlington, IA, Hazel Warner of Mt. Zion, IL, Lois Jean Cline and Betty June Cowger both of Mattoon, IL and Judy Wilkey of Charleston, IL; three grandchildren, Joseph Burson of Greenup, IL, Montana Mince and Jasmine Mince both of Mattoon, IL. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sharon Overmyer and one half brother, George Metzger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 18, 2013, in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, with the Rev. Richard Coen of Neoga, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M., to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Funeral Home.
