HOMER PHILLIPS

98, of Greenup, Illinois, formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 10:40 A. M., Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in the Cumberland Rehab and Health Care in Greenup, IL. Homer was born November 12, 1914, in Hampton, Iowa, the son of Arvey and Grace Agnes (Gardner) Phillips. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Sigel, IL and he was a retired Farmer and Carpenter. Homer married Alice Clara Snodgrass, July 20, 1941and Mrs. Phillips passed away July 3, 2006.Mr. Phillips leaves two sons, Ronald Duane Phillips and wife Carolyn of rural Toledo, IL and Dennis Merl Phillips and wife Sherri of Glade Park, CO; one daughter, Beth Elaine Larson and husband Gary of rural Neoga, IL; two sisters, Beulah Newman of Mahomet, IL and Olive Stiebner of rural Neoga, IL; two Sister-in-laws, Elsie Phillips of Neoga, IL and Evelyn Farero and husband Bernard of Effingham, IL; ten grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and two great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Clara Phillips; two brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Sigel, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P. M., Saturday, January 19, 2013, in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Sigel, IL with Pastor, Gary Fortkamp of Effingham, IL, officiating. Visitation will be held, one hour before the services in the Church. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Sigel, Illinois.
