77, of Malvern, Arkansas, formerly of Oakland and Urbana, Illinois, passed away at 3:00 A.M., Sunday, October 6, 2013, in the Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Jesse was born September 5, 1936, in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Patrick and Mildred (Miller ) Tatman. He married Jan E. Tucker on February 27, 1981 in Mattoon, IL and Jan passed away August 27, 2008, after twenty-eight years of marriage. Jesse later married Connie Munger Lawrence on August 25, 2013, in Malvern Arkansas. Jesse was a retired truck driver for Nussbaum Trucking Company. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War, a member of the Fair Play Missionary Baptist Church, The Suburban Teamsters of Northern IL # 179, a member of the Mattoon American Legion Post # 88 of Mattoon, IL, and he was an avid Bowler. Mr. Tatman leaves his wife, Connie Tatman of Malvern, AR; three daughters, Patricia L. "Patti" Garrett and husband Mark of Urbana, IL, Teresa "Teri" Miltenberger and husband Eric of rural Toledo, IL and Kimberly L. "Kym" McWhorter of Neoga, IL; one step-son, Sean Lawrence of Malvern, AR; one step-daughter, J'ne Hudson of Little Rock, AR; three brothers, Paul Tatman and wife Elaine of Oakwood, IL, Larry Tatman and wife Barbara of Portsmouth, VA and Ronnie Tatman and wife Karen of Longview, IL; one sister, Charlene Pryor of Champaign, IL; six grandchildren, Jeremy Garrett and wife Aimie of Urbana, IL, Kyle Miltenberger and Erica Miltenberger both of Neoga, IL, Ashtin McWhorter, Shelby McWhorter and Payton McWhorter all of Neoga, IL; four step grandchildren: 1 great grandson, Cameron Hallom and expecting one more great grandchild. Mr. Tatman was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Lawrence, Donald, Charles, George and Jim Tatman; two sisters, Ada Bloemker and Florence Schoonover. Memorials may be made to The Jesse L. Tatman Memorial Youth Bowling Scholarship. Southern Bancorp of Hot Springs Arkansas. 71901 Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in the Zion Hill Cemetery - Paradise Twp., Coles County, Illinois. The Rev. Alfred Eastin of Jacksonville, Illinois officiating. Military Services will be conducted by the V. F. W. Post # 4325 of Mattoon, IL.
