Judy Kay (Carruthers) Brownback

Judy Kay Brownback, 75 of Mattoon, Illinois passed away at 4:16 PM Sunday March 8, 2026 in the Brookstone Estates in Mattoon, Illinois.  She was born December 22, 1950 in Mattoon, Illinois the daughter of John H and Dorothy (Clark Bowen) Carruthers.  Judy married David L Brownback on June 5, 1994 in Neoga, Illinois.  Mr. Brownback passed away December 23, 2017. Mrs. Brownback was a retired physical therapist’s assistant. 
Judy  is survived by her brother, John R. (Michele) Carruthers of Sigel, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Connie Vancleave and Barbara A. Bowen.  
In accordance with Judy’s wishes cremation rites will be afforded and burial in Bethany Cemetery near Assumption will take place at a later date. Family and friends may visit the gravesite at their convenience.
