KIM LEE BUSHUR

Bushur, Kim Lee, 67, of Lyons, IL (previously Ocoee, FL, Springfield, IL, and Neoga, IL) passed away March 5, 2024 at UChicago Hospital AdventHealth LaGrange, IL. Born in Mattoon, IL and raised in Neoga, IL he graduated Neoga High School in the class of 1974 as the Salutatorian.  He then served our country through the National Guard from 1976 -1981.  Later in life he went on to graduate from The Orlando Culinary Academy, as Magna Cum Laude. He was also the board president of his neighborhood in Springfield for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Kermit Bushur, his brother Kenneth Bushur, and his brother-in-law Danny O’Dell. Proud father of daughters, Tennille (Robert) Chapel, Tiffany (Matt) English; Grandfather to Sadie, Jude, Maxwell, and Ruby; Loving brother to Karen and the late Danny O’Dell, Kermit (Marlin) Bushur, the late Kenneth (Patricia) Bushur, Kevin (Dawn) Bushur, and Keith (Marsha) Bushur; Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Kim was known for his witty humor, hardworking mentality, charming spirit, and was always willing to help a neighbor or friend in need.  All that knew him would say he was often the life of the party with a beaming smile on his face. He had a passion for fishing, cooking/grilling out, watching his beloved Chicago Cubbies, Bears, and Bulls, and spending time with his family. He worked for many years as the general manager of Ben Tire in Springfield and went on to pursue his favorite hobby and dream of becoming a chef by attending and graduating from The Orlando Culinary Academy. He will be missed dearly and his gift of giving continues as he is helping others through A Gift of Hope as an organ donor. A private “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later time.
