Kelly L Shutt

Kelly L. Shutt of Neoga, Illinois passed away Wednesday April 22, 2026 at his home. He was born October 20, 1964 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania to George and Betty (Seig) Shutt. Kelly married Cheryl Smith on April 28, 1988 in Fort Polk Louisiana. He served 12 years in the US Army. He was a truck driver for Rural King for 16 years. He loved riding his motorcycle. Kelly also enjoyed working on cars. His greatest love was his family, he did everything he could for them. 

Kelly is survived by his wife Cheryl; daughter, Brittney (Garet) Shuemaker and Briana (Brandon) Hartleroad; grandchildren, Avery and Amelia Shuemaker and Aubree and Carter Hartleroad; sister, Karen Shutt; brother, Butch Shutt; sister-in-law, Linda Shutt; many nieces and nephews. Kelly also leaves behind many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doug Shutt; mother-in-law, Kay Smith; brother-in-law, Chadlee Cole Smith.  

 In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Mattoon American Legion Post # 88. 
 Visitation will be held on Friday May 1, 2026 from 11:00AM until a 1:00PM Military service at Swengel- O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois. The services will be followed by a ride to the Mattoon VFW Hall.
