LEWIS IVAN THOMPSON

Lewis Ivan  Thompson  83, of rural Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 5:10 PM Wednesday August 2, 2023 in the Mattoon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Mattoon, Illinois.  He was born April 2, 1940 in Mattoon, Illinois the son of Charles and Marie (Loudon) Thompson.  Mr. Thompson married Dorsie E. Warner Fore April 20, 2002 in Toledo, Illinois, Dorsie passed away June 22, 2022.   Ivan was the Owner/Operator of Thompson’s Welding in Lerna, Illinois which was the proud home of the "Worlds Fastest Pop Machine ".   Ivan served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Johnstown, Illinois.  Mr. Thompson is survived by his children, Scott Fore (Vicky Thomas) of Pennsylvania, Toni Craig (David) of Charleston, Illinois and Eric Fore (Megan Harbour) of Wyoming; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorsie Thompson; son, Gregory A. Thompson; brother, Lee Thompson; sisters, Ellen Hammond, Nita Boruff and Lois Thompson.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday August 8, 2023 in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois.  Visitation will be held Tuesday August 8, 2023  from 10:00 AM until service time also at the funeral home, Casual attire is requested.  Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery in Janesville, Illinois with Military Honors by Neoga American Legion.
