MARY BARTLETT Obituary

93, of Mattoon, formerly of Neoga, IL and Champaign, IL, passed away at 3:30 A.M. Saturday February 4, 2012 in the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. Mary was born April 17, 1918 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Henry N. and Frances C. (Anderson) Noles. She married George E Bartlett August 4, 1933 in Decatur, IL he preceded her in death. Mary has been active in The First Christian Church in Neoga, IL, including as a Sunday School teacher, a Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader, a member of the Farm Bureau, Odd-Fellows-Rebekah Lodge and Eastern Star, she was a Stanley Home products dealer and a garment worker in Neoga and Mattoon. She purchased and directed the Busy Bee Nursery in Champaign, IL, and attended U. of I. In 1970 went to Mexico to serve as a Christian missionary. While there she helped establish a mission home for boys and girls in Celaya, GTO, Mexico. She also worked as a House Parent at Artesia Christian College in Artesia, NM. She is survived by three sons, George H. Bartlett (Carol), Mattoon, IL., John K. Bartlett (Darlene), Mattoon, IL and Charles E. Bartlett (Carolyn), Neoga, IL; three daughters, Frances Jennings (Derald), Evans, CO, Rose Dobler (Tom), Burlington, CO and Sherry Miranda (Johann), Coralville, IA; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren and 25 Foster Children. Mary was preceded in death by her Parents; husband, George Bartlett, daughter, Mary Ellen Bartlett, brother, Kenneth Noles and sister, Juanita Burton. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, IL. with Ministers Richard Coen and Minister Darin Hansen of Neoga officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2012 until service time at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Neoga Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
