MAURICE LIBBEY Obituary

83, of Neoga, Illinois, formerly from Maine, passed away at 6:34 A.M., Monday, July 23, 2012, in Gowin Parc of Mattoon, Illinois. Maurice was born August 23, 1928, in Waterville, Maine, the son of Daniel G. and Isabel Amanda ( Morrison ) Libbey. Maurice was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga, and a member of the Eastern Illinois University Annuitants Association of Charleston, Illinois. He married Martha Soto and she passed away in 1992, he later married Donna Lou Rowe, December 3, 1994 in Charleston, Ill. Mr. Libbey was a retired Librarian, he worked at the Booth Library in Charleston, IL for Twenty-eight years. He received his Master's Degree in Science from Columbia University a certificate of Advanced study from the University of Illinois. His interest includes biking and photography, especially shots of family and scenery. Mr. Libbey leaves his wife Donna Lou Libbey of Neoga, IL; one son, Peter D. Libbey and wife Rocio of Glenwood, AZ; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Marchiori and husband Michael of Batavia, IL; one stepson, Robert W. Zimmerman of East Peoria, IL; one stepdaughter, Mary L. Zimmerman of Malvern, IA; two brothers, David Libbey and wife Rebecca of Maryville, TN, Bradley A. Libbey and wife Lois of Lynn, MA; one sister, Ann C. McAnally of Cape Coral, FL; four grandchildren, Daniel J. Libbey and Thomas C. Libbey both of Phoenix, AZ, Ana Mae Marchiori and Andrew Q. Marchiori both of Batavia, IL. Mr. Libbey was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Martha Libbey and one sister, Barbara F. McLemore. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or to the Parkinson's Foundation , in care of Mrs. Donna Libbey, 106 Heartland Dr., Neoga, IL 62447. The family is honoring Mr. Libbey's request, to donate his body to Medical Science. A Memorial Service will held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 13, 2012, in the Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga, IL, with Pastor, Debbie Reese, officiating.
