MICHAEL BRIGHT Obituary

Michael D. Bright 76, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 8:40 PM Sunday September 29, 2024 in the Lakeland Rehabilitation And Health Care Center of Effingham, Illinois.
Michael was born July 13, 1948 in Mattoon, Illinois the son of John M. and Madonna F. (Wiandt) Bright. 
He married Helen K. Kaufman September 15, 1973 in Green Creek, Illinois, Mrs. Bright passed away October 20, 2013.
 Michael served in the United States Army in Vietnam.  He worked as a Purchasing Agent for Superior in Mattoon, Illinois and worked in Facility Maintenance for First Mid Of Illinois in Mattoon, Illinois.  
  He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Jetta) Bright of Neoga, Illinois and Nicholas Bright of Neoga, Illinois; grandchildren Bentley, London and Navy all of Neoga, Illinois; brother, Gary (Karin) Bright of Ashmore, Illinois; brother in laws, David Kaufman, Mark Kaufman and Melvin Kaufman; sister in laws, Jane (Ed) Goeckner and June (Rich) Probst.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen Bright; unborn grandsons, Bowen and Blu Bright and brother, Mark Bright.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM,  Friday October 4, 2024 in the St. Michael The Archangel Church in Sigel, Illinois.  Visitation will be Friday October 4, 2024 from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM., in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois.  Burial will be in the St. Michael Cemetery in Sigel, Illinois with Military Honors by the Sigel American Legion.
