MICHAEL "MIKE" LLOYD MASSENGILL

Michael  Lloyd "Mike" Massengill, 66 of Mattoon, Illinois formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away Thursday August 31, 2023 in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center of Mattoon, Illinois.  He was born March 25, 1957 in Beaufort, South Carolina the son of Lloyd and Ruth (Farmer) Massengill.  Mike was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a retired store clerk for Kohl’s Department Store in Effingham, Illinois and as a bartender at The Last Stand in Sigel, Illinois.  He attended the Neoga Free Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois and was a member of the Neoga Class of 1975.  Mr. Massengill is survived by his son, Tyler Massengill (Brittany) of Toledo, Illinois; daughter, Kelsey Massengill of Toledo, Illinois;  grandchildren, Christopher Plunkett, Sage Holliday, Emilie Vincent, Claire Vincent and Lucas Vincent; brother, Tim K. Massengill (Tammie) of Neoga, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by, parents; son, Andrew Vincent; brother Rev. Steve Massengill; step father, Paul Hatten.
Memorials are suggested to Neoga Free Methodist Church 1092 Railroad Street Neoga, IL 62447.
As per Mike’s wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
