82, of rural Neoga, Illinois, formerly of Champaign, Illinois, passed away at 11:52 P. M., Monday, February 11, 2013, in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Coles County, IL. She was born May 4, 1930, in Pesotum, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Yingst) Bishop. She married Jerry Brown, October 24, 1960, in Danville, Illinois and Mr. Brown passed away August 6, 2001. Norma was a housewife and a member of the First Christian Church of Neoga. She leaves two sons, Craig Sawyer and wife Nancy of Thomasville, IL and Stephen Schreiber and wife Christine of Mesa, AZ; one daughter, Betsy Burgess and husband Larry of Windsor, IL; seven grandchildren, Michele Stai and husband Chris of Winona, MN, Thomas Sawyer of Urbana, IL, Jeri " Jai " Woolard and husband Justin of Windsor, IL, Amy Lehman and husband Chris of Lapel, IN, Cheri Dolney and husband Robert of Cottage Grove, MN, Heather Survis and husband Dwight of Atlanta, GA and Vernon Craig Sawyer, jr and wife Stacey of Clearwater, FL; twenty-one great grandchildren. A special thank-you to Krystal Heaton for taking very special care of her great grandmother. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Faye, Robert and Verne " Bud " Bishop; one sister, Mary Corpaney and one great grandson, Devin Crews. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 18, 2013, in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, with Pastor, John Calio of Mattoon, officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P. M., to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, at the Funeral Home.
