Pauline Anna Ramert 100, of Mattoon, Illinois passed away at 12:25 PM Thursday September
5, 2024 in the Odd fellow Rebekah Nursing Home in Mattoon, Illinois. She was
born November 12, 1923 in Effingham, Illinois the daughter of Herman and Frances
(Wolfert) Braun. Pauline married Harold E. Ramert November 6, 1943 in Neoga, Illinois,
Mr Ramert passed away March 11, 1978. Mrs. Ramert was a cook at the Neoga Sale
Barn and later retired from the General Electric Lamp plant in Mattoon, Illinois. She was
a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Mattoon, Illinois and also a past
member of the St. Mary Of The Assumption Church in Neoga, Illinois, a member of the
Golden Hearts, T.H.E.O.S. and several other clubs in Mattoon, Illinois. Pauline enjoyed
traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Martha
Sherer (Fred) of Humboldt, Illinois, James "Jim" Ramert (Maureen) of Long Island, New
York, Mary Ellen Wetzel (David) of Mattoon, Illinois and Jennifer Markwell (Dennis) of
Greenup, Illinois; step son, Michael "Mick" Ramert (Wanda) of Neoga, Illinois; Ten
grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four step grandchildren.
Mrs. Ramert was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Ramert; sons,
David and Larry Ramert; brothers, Jim Braun and John David Braun; sisters, Dorothy
Hoffman and Luella Braun: daughter in law, Mary Ann Ramert; and one great great
granddaughter.
Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s Choice.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial
Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois.
