REV. OSCAR LEE NICHOLS

Rev. Oscar Lee Nichols 93,  Trilla, Illinois passed away Thursday October 14, 2021 in the Charleston Rehab and Health Care in Charleston, Illinois. He was born May 17, 1928 in Coles County, Illinois the son of Hugh G. and Iva Fern (Boruff) Nichols. Rev. Nichols married Mary Caroline Morton July 21, 1949. She passed away December 13, 1996. He then married Joan Flynn on September 19, 1997. She passed away November 7, 2010. He was a retired Pastor of the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. He also was pastor of several other churches throughout his life.  Rev. Oscar leaves his children, Ronald Nichols (Julie) of Fennville, Michigan; Carmia Baker of Charleston, Illinois, Jim Nichols (Lisha) of Harvest, Alabama and Paul Nichols (Betty) of Trilla, Illinois; son in law, Richard Gonce of Stevenson, Alabama; twelve Grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Morton Nichols and wife, Joan Flynn Nichols; daughter Betty Gonce; one brother and three sisters.
Memorials are suggested to Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Trilla, Illinois.     Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday October 20, 2021 at the Good Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Trilla, Illinois. Visitation will be held Tuesday October 19, 2021 in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois from 5:00 PM until 7:PM.  Burial will be in the Beals Cemetery near Trilla, Illinois.
