RICHARD L. "DICK" BOWLIN

Richard  L. "Dick"  Bowlin, 70 of rural Effingham, Illinois, passed away at 8:47 AM Saturday , December 10, 2022 in the Clay County Hospital in Flora, Illinois.  He was born May 14, 1952 in Effingham, Illinois the son of James "Jack" and Lucille (Levitt) Bowlin.  Dick married Susie Zike-Reed, April 17, 1971 in Mattoon, Illinois.  He was a laborer at Trailmobile in Charleston, Illinois and was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Effingham, Illinois. He enjoyed camping, building models and tinkering in the barn.  Dick is survived by his wife, Susie Bowlin of Effingham, Illinois; children, Terry E. Bowlin(Rita) of Effingham, Illinois, DeAnna  S. Bowlin of Effingham, Illinois and Elizabeth "Amy" Woodrum (Cedric) of Greenup, Illinois; brother, James W. Bowlin (Marcia) of Effingham, Illinois; sisters, Charlotte Crumrin (Dennis) of Arthur, Illinois and Debbie Wells of Mattoon, Illinois.   He was preceded in death by, parents; brothers, Genie Bowlin and Jackie Bowlin; sisters, Alice Barker, Loretta Bowlin and Trish Mason.
Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Foundation Of America or to the Family C/O Susie Bowlin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois.  Visitation will be two hours before services also in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mattoon, Illinois.
