RICHARD PETERS Obituary

82, passed away at Mattoon Healthcare on April 8, 2020.  He was born in rural Neoga, January 17, 1938, son of Richard and Virginia (Carruthers) Peters. He married Judy Anderson, December 27, 1959 at St. Paul's in Sigel, II. Blessed with a happy long marriage of 60 years.

Surviving are his wife and two sons of Neoga, Mark (Barbie), Matt (Martha); six grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Jonathan, Levi, Kyle, and Marley Peters; three step grandchildren Mahalie, Colton, Shay; four great granddaughters; one sister Anita (Bob) Thomas and family.

Richard was a lifelong, hardworking farmer and owned Peters & Sons Trucking. He enjoyed time talking and working with all the drivers in the shop and spending time with friends at coffee every morning. He loved antique cars and restored several. His biggest pride in joy was his family. He adored the grandchildren and spending time with them. As the grandchildren have grown, he really enjoyed watching their accomplishments.
