ROBERT L. ANGELL, JR.

Robert L. Angell, Jr. 94, of Mattoon, Illinois formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away Wednesday October 30, 2024 in Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born June 22, 1930 in Iowa the son of Robert L. Sr. and Rachel E. (Drake) Angell.  Robert married Joyce E. Ellis October 17, 1975 in Mattoon, Illinois and She passed away September 10, 2008.  He then married Jan Henshaw February, 2012 she survives.  Robert proudly served his country  in the United States Air Force.   He worked as a Journeyman Lineman in the I.B.E.W. Local 146 in Decatur, Illinois.  Robert attended the New Mercy Worship Center in Mattoon, Illinois and the Grace United Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois. He was a member and former commander of the Neoga American Legion, a Master Mason, The Shriners Club, NRA and ISRA.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jan Angell of Mattoon, Illinois; son, Kevin Robert Angell of Mattoon, Illinois; daughter, Lisa Anne Hamblen (Michael) of Naples, Florida; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Kathalene Scranton of Decatur, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Angell.
Memorials are suggested to Grace United Methodist Church in Neoga Blessings in a Backpack.
A  Celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday November 6, 2024 in the New Mercy Worship Center of Mattoon, Illinois.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the church.  Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Mattoon, Illinois at a later date.
