ROBERT D. "BOB" GENTRY

83, of Sigel, Illinois, passed away at 2:30 A.M., Friday, November 1, 2019, surrounded by his family, in his residence. He was born July 11, 1936, the son of Oscar B. and Dorothy E. (Fromme) Gentry in Lovington, Illinois. Bob Married Donna Brooks July 22, 1962 in Effingham, Illinois.  He was a retired grain farmer and also worked 44 years at the Fedders Corporation in Effingham, Illinois.  Mr. Gentry was a member of the First Christian Church in Neoga, Illinois and the Cumberland County Farm Bureau. He loved anything mechanical, cars and equipment and was a Nascar fan.  Bob leaves his wife of 57 years, Donna Gentry of Sigel, Illinois; Sons, Robert "Rob" Gentry (Jennifer) of Altamont, Illinois and Rory Gentry (Paula) of Sigel, Illinois; Daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Gentry of Sigel, Illinois; brother, Gary Gentry of Sigel, Illinois; sister, Mary Jane McMullen (Phillip) of Mt. Zion, Illinois; Five grandchildren, Zakery, Jacob, Mallorie, Makayla & Alex Gentry; two great grandchildren, Annelise & Oliver Gentry and several nieces and nephews.  He  was preceded in death by his parents and sister in law, Linda Gentry. 
Memorials are suggested to Camp New Hope or HSHS St. Anthony Hospice.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 10:30 AM Friday November 8, 2019 at the Swengel- O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois with Pastor Mel Workman officiating.  Visitation will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery.
