ROBERT E. "BOB" ST.JOHN

77, of Mattoon, Illinois, formerly of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 9:00 A.M., Saturday, June 8, 2013, in the Mattoon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Mattoon, Illinois. Bob was born April 7, 1936, in Neoga, Illinois, the son of Alvin and Edna (Pickering) St.John. He was a graduate of the Neoga High School and served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. He was a retired welder for the Decatur Caterpillar Company of Decatur, Illinois. Bob married Karen Thornton July 18, 1993 in Cleveland, TN, and he enjoyed fishing, lawn care and visiting with his friends. Bob leaves his wife, Karen St.John of Mattoon, IL; one daughter, Christine Myers and husband Garrett of Effingham, IL; one stepson, Karl Thornton and wife Myra of Gays, IL; one stepdaughter, Donna Daigh and husband Bill of Virginia Beach, VA; three brothers, Edward St.John and wife Karen of Olathe, KS, Richard St.John and wife Donna of Sullivan, IL and Gerald St.John of Trilla, IL; two sisters, Carol Smith and husband Dale of Trilla, IL and Shirley Rice and husband Gary of Mattoon, IL; five grandchildren, Kasey St.John, Zachary Myers both of Effingham, IL, Kari Thornton of Peoria, IL, Karla Magnotta of Illiopolis, IL and Matthew Thornton of Hickman Air Force Base, Hawaii; one great granddaughter, Maggie Anderson of Effingham, Il; one great grandson, Kurtis Magnotta of lliopolis, IL. Mr. St.John was preceded in death by his parents and one great granddaughter, Addyson Anderson. Memorials may be made to the Arcola Presbyterian Church, 311 East Jefferson, Arcola, IL 61910, or to the American Cancer Society. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 14, 2013 in the Janesville Cemetery of Janesville, Illinois, with the Rev. Don Winch of Arcola, Illinois, officiating.
