ROBERT J. "BOB" VOGEL

91, of New Smyma Beach, Florida, formerly of Mattoon Illinois, passed away at 6:00 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2020, in the Heartland Senior Living Center in Neoga. Illinois. He was born  on February 11, 1929 in Altamont, Illinois the son of Henry Aloysius and Mary Berenice (Brown) Vogel. Robert grew up in Arcola and lived there until he married Mary Louise Shouse on November 21, 1973. He loved to travel and explore new destinations. Robert was a retired maintenance worker for the Ameren Power Station in Newton Illinois. After retiring he and his wife moved to Florida where they enjoyed their retirement home on the beach. He is survived by his wife, Mary Vogel of New Smyma Beach, Florida; step sons, Steven Bergfeld (Susan) and Timothy Bergfeld both of Mattoon, Illinois; brother, James Vogel of Decatur, Illinois; grandchildren, Curtis Bergfeld (Kim) of Jacksonville, Florida, Joshua Bergfeld (Jessi) of Mattoon, Illinois and Daniel Bergfeld of Monticello, Illinois; great grandchildren, Blane Bergfeld and Ava Bergfeld both of Jacksonville, Florida. Mr Vogel was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, Leon, Paul Richard and Francis; sisters, Marjorie, Mary, Madonna and Helen. As per Robert's wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded and services will be held at a later date.
