Roger L. Blair 84, of Lerna, Illinois passed away 7:00 AM Friday November 29, 2024 in the Mattoon Rehabilitation And Health Care Center of Mattoon, Illinois. Roger was born December 15, 1939 in Cumberland County, Illinois the son of Lewis D. and Montella (Haga) Blair.
He married Karen Tomkins June 9, 1963 in Mattoon, Illinois.
Mr. Blair proudly served in the Illinois National Guard. He was always keeping busy on his grain and livestock farm, he enjoyed operating his back hoe and he was a great " tinkerer" making useful things out of almost anything.
Roger is survived by his wife, Karen Blair of Lerna, Illinois; children, Debbie (Tim) Beals of Trilla, Illinois, Robert (Cheryl) Blair of Mattoon, Illinois and Jennifer (Mike) Croslow of Lerna, Illinois; six grandchildren, Beth (Shane) Reeder, Erica Beals, Amanda Beals, Drew (Kristina) Croslow, Austin Croslow and Colton Blair; seven great grandchildren; brother, John (Jo) Blair of Forsyth, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Montella Blair.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday December 4, 2024 in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois. Visitation will be Tuesday December 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM also in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Beals Cemetery near Trilla, Illinois with Military Honors by the Neoga American Legion.
