ROLLA  "DALE"  SMITH

69, of Rural Trilla, Illinois passed away at 11:44 AM, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at home.  He was born November 25, 1950 in Effingham, the son of Oral E. and June (Rawdin) Smith.  Dale married Carol St. John December 31, 1982 in Coles County, Illinois.  He was a farmer and also known for his Daylilies.  Dale is survived by his wife, Carol of Trilla; daughter, Cindy Olmstead (Paul) of Trilla; son, Jeff Closson of Paris; brother, Earl Smith of Trilla; sister, Nancy West (Bob) of Trilla; and six grandchildren, Candice Shields (Curtis), Morgan Closson, Mason Closson, Devin Olmstead, Ethan Olmstead and Aubree Olmstead.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Terry D. Smith.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.    
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September  18, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga with Pastor, Ed Stephens officiating. Visitation will also be Friday from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery in Janesville.
