ROSA M. (FLESSNER) JOYCE

90, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 9:15 AM Sunday, July 18, 2021 in the Heartland Senior Living Center in Neoga, Illinois.  She was born September 1, 1930 in Dixon, Illinois the daughter of Emil and Matilda (Schulte) Flessner. She married Robert E. Joyce December 3, 1949 in Kankakee, Illinois and he passed away February 13, 1978.  Rosa was a retired Cook at several restaurants and stores.  She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Champaign, Illinois, a Life Member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion in Champaign, Illinois and Moose Heart International since 1976.  Rosa loved gardening and spending time with the grandchildren.  Mrs. Joyce leaves behind her daughters, Connie (Phil) Anderson of Neoga, Illinois and Patricia Joyce of Neoga, Illinois; grandchildren, Kim (Nick) Harford of Mattoon, Illinois, Katie (Patrick) O’Dell of Windsor, Illinois and Lindsey (Patrick) Platz of Sigel, Illinois; six great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Joyce, son, James Joyce; one brother; three sisters.
A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday July 22, 2021 in the Glen Cemetery of Paxton, Illinois.
