ROY E. WALK

86, passed away at 7:05 AM Friday, October 9, 2020 in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois.  He was born April 3, 1934 in  Neoga, Illinois, the son of Raymond A. and Velva (Pardieck) Walk. He married Marilyn J. Scott April 10, 1955 in Mattoon, Illinois Marilyn passed away May 26, 2016. Roy served in the United States Army, he was a lifelong farmer and an exceptional wood worker building everything from wooden toys to fine furniture.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends at the Depot Restaurant for coffee every morning.
  He was a former member of the First Christian Church of Neoga in Neoga, Illinois.   Roy is survived by his daughter Penny Butts and husband Dr. Robert of Decatur, Illinois: one brother, Max Walk (Carol) of Neoga, Illinois; six grandchildren, Blake R. Durbin (Abby) of Shelbyville, Illinois, Amanda S. Durbin of Shelbyville, Illinois, Matthew E. Durbin (Natalie) of Stewardson, Illinois, Andrew P. Butts, Gavin S. Butts and Connor A. Butts all of Decatur, Illinois; one step grandson, Nicholas Butts of Oak Park, Illinois; one great grandchild, Grant R. Durbin; son in law, Larry Durbin of Shelbyville, Illinois.  Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Velva (Pardieck) Walk; wife, Marilyn; daughter, Ginger Durbin; brothers, Harold Walk, Dean Walk and Donald Walk; sisters, Katherine Coleman, Vivian Tebbe and Wanda Bierman.    
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Neoga, Illinois or the Sarah Bush Lincoln Cardiology Department in Mattoon, Illinois.
Due to the Covid - 19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois.
