SARAH ALICE (KIRKWOOD) THOMPSON

80, of rural Neoga, Illinois passed away at 7:30 PM, Monday, October 5, 2020 in the Heartland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Casey, Illinois.  She was born October 7, 1939, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of John and Alice (Nixon) Kirkwood.  Sarah was a retired seamstress for Kern Manufacturing in Neoga, Illinois.  She married Dale O. Thompson June 6, 1957 in Sullivan, Illinois. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Neoga Free Methodist Church of Neoga, Illinois.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband and being with her family and friends.  Sarah leaves her husband, Dale Thompson of rural Neoga, Illinois; children, Steve Thompson (Connie) of Stewardson, Illinois, Johnny Thompson of Lyles, Tennessee, Scott Thompson (Patricia) of Bland, Missouri, Cathy Nichols (Ron) of Hidalgo, Illinois and Jeff Thompson (Cyndi) of Mattoon, Illinois; brothers, Clifford Kirkwood (Mary) of Bethany, Illinois and Dan Kirkwood (Nitra) of Copell, Texas: sisters, Rose Willer (Martin) of Findlay, Illinois, Ann Pool (Jimy)of Keysville, Georgia and Dorothy White (Terry) of Decatur, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles Kirkwood.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 8, 2020 in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois with Pastor Steve Massengill officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
