83 of Neoga, Illinois, formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 10:05 A.M., Tuesday, 31, 2012, in the Heartland Christian Village of Neoga. Sarah was born May 14, 1929, in Newton, Illinois, the daughter of William Ira and Carrie Belle ( Martin ) Lancaster. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Sigel, Illinois. Sarah was employed by the Arctic Cat Company of Thief Rivers Fall, Minn., and T.R.W. She was a blue ribbon cook, loved to crochet and also loved ceramics and operated her owned business in Newton, Ill. Sarah married Eugene Humphres on May 6, 1953, in Oblong, Illinois, and Mr. Humphres, passed away in 1987. She later married Elmer C. Zarn on May 21, 1993 on a Carribean Cruise and Mr. Zarn passed away July 25, 2010. Mrs. Zarn leaves two step-daughters, Betty Whirry of Pardeeville, Wisconsin and Judy Anderson and husband David of Westfield, Wisconsin; one brother, Charles Lancaster of El Campo, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Toni Humphres of Rose Hill, Illinois; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Humphres of Effingham, Ill.: three great Grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; Mrs. Zarn was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Eugene Humphres and Elmer Zarn; one son, James K. Humphres; four brothers and five sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, or to the Heartland Christian Village Auxiliary of Neoga, Ill. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M., Saturday, August 4, 2012, in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, with the Rev. Gary Fortkamp of Effingham, Ill., officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery of Sigel, Illinois.
