Thelma Louise Bray or “Louise” as she was called by her family and friends was born July 12, 1938. She married Robert Price on August 31, 1957. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1985. Louise passed away on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 leaving behind their beloved family daughters Robin (Mark) Lowder of Waverly, Carrie (Richard) Hanley of Hanover Park, sons Stan (Donna) Price of Dawson, and Lee Price of Bartlett. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Jordan Hanley, Alison (Alex Palmere) Hanley, Kristi (Nick) Veach, Katie (Sebastian) Estes, and Steven Price and fiancee Alyssa Vignos and 4 great-grandchildren Miles Palmere, Brynlee Veach, and Kennedy and Kallie Estes.

Louise also had a large extended family which included her parents, sister, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She had one sister Neva (Duane) Moore (David Casstevens), three brothers James (Marlene) Bray, Hank (Jane) Bray, and infant brother Raymond Bray, three step-brothers Richard (Dorothy) Bray, Ross (Maudie) Bray, and Noel (Thelma) Bray, sister-in-laws Bonnie Price, Christine (Earl) Price, and Judy (Danny) Bridges and brother-in-law Roy Price. She was preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Thelma Bray Hunsley, her in-laws Georgia and Stanley Price, as well as other family members from both sides of her extended family.

Louise was a housewife, homemaker, and seamstress. She loved to play games with her family, go fishing, listen to music, and watch the Hallmark Channel and sports on TV. She was an avid sports fan supporting her home town team the Waverly Scotties, as well as cheering for the Chicago Cubs, Golden State Warriors (Steph Curry), the Dallas Cowboys and recently the Kansas City Chiefs (Patrick Mahomes.) She loved music of all kinds and generations from Elvis to Englebert Humperdinck to Boys Zone and Celtic Thunder.

When her children were all in school she began working for the Central Laborer’s Pension and Welfare Fund. In later years she became the treat maker, greeter, and cashier for Verda Mae’s Restaurant where she made many friends and brought a lot of joy to pie lovers in the area.

A private family service was held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Long Point Cemetery in Neoga, IL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Waverly Senior Center in memory of Thelma Louise Price or the organization/charity of your choice.
