VELMA JUNE MYERS

85, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 1:25 AM, June 1, 2019 in HS HS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital of Effingham, Illinois. June was born January 22, 1934 the daughter of Golden Earl and Thelma (Hall) Orr in Montrose, Illinois. She married Robert "Bob" Myers August 10, 1952 in Coles County, Illinois. June was a Tele-Typist for the Journal Gazette Newspaper in Mattoon, Illinois. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Neoga, Illinois, Modern Woodsman and a former member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Myers leaves her husband, Robert "Bob" Myers of Neoga, Illinois; her children, Brenda J. Myers, Steven R. Myers (Debbie) both of Neoga, Illinois and Barbara G. Myers of Champaign, Illinois; eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; siblings, Earl Eugene Orr (Eva L) Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Joyce Gast of Mattoon, Illinois, Nancy Sansone of Charleston, Illinois, Charlotte Orr Of Neoga, Illinois and Kathryn Lanza (Pete} of Oldsmar, Florida; adopted siblings, Jerri Gray (George) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Carolyn Laude of Mattoon, Illinois and William Orr. She was preceded in death by, her parents; sister, Helen Hardesty; brother-in-laws, Leo Hardesty, Jerry Sansone and Harold Gast.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday June 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the First Christian Church of Neoga, Illinois with Pastor, Mel Workman officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Zion Hill Cemetery, Paradise Twp. Coles County, Illinois
