VERA KATHRYN (ROBERTS) PAINTER

Vera Kathryn Painter 79, of Mason, Illinois, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday June 15, 2024 at 6:00 am in her residence.  She was born September 17, 1944 in Mattoon, Illinois the daughter of Vern and Belinda "Catherine" (Lawrence) Roberts.  She Married Herman H. Painter Jr., November 26, 1960 in Neoga, Illinois.  Mrs. Painter was a former teller at Midland State Bank in Altamont, Illinois and a Baptist Pastor’ s wife for many years.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Effingham, Illinois, and a former WMU Director for Clear Creek Association of Anna and Olney, Illinois.  Vera enjoyed traveling with her husband all across the country,  butterflies collecting sea shells and especially spending time with family and friends.   Vera is survived by her husband, retired Pastor, Herman Painter, Jr. Of Mason, Illinois; her children, Richard Painter of Effingham, Illinois, Randy Painter (Marsha) of Mason, Illinois, Teresa Painter (David Fritcher) of Effingham, Illinois and Melissa Jackson (Bill) of Marengo, Ohio; eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Verlinda Walker; daughter in law, Tracy Painter; one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
Memorials are suggested to Angel Cove Residential Maternity Pregnancy Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.             
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2024 in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church East of Neoga, Illinois. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 19, 2024  from 10:00 a.m. until service time also in the church.
