90 of Monticello, Illinois, formerly of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 1:19 P.M., Thursday, November 15, 2012, in the Kirby Medical Center of Monticello, Illinois. He was born February 9, 1922, in Neoga, Illinois, the son of Elda A. and A. Leoma ( Lockhart ) Drennan. He was a W.W. II veteran serving in the United States Army in Europe for three years. Bill married Rowena Elson on November 14, 1948, in Neoga, Illinois. He was a Deacon and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Past Member and President of the Lions Club # 1973, both of Monticello, Illinois. A member of the Alumni Association of Millikin University and Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, both of Decatur, Illinois. Bill was employed by the General Telephone company for seventeen years and he was an insurance agent, for the New York Life Insurance Company and retiring after seventeen years of service. Mr. Drennan leaves his wife, Rowena Drennan of Monticello, IL; two daughters, Marsha Hinthorn and husband Robert of Normal, IL and Erin Cody and husband Terry of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clyde E. Drennan; two sisters, Doris Jean Cameron and R. Irene Drennan. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 214 South Charter St., Monticello, IL 61856 or to the charity of the donor's choice.. As per Mr. Drennan's wishes, he will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 214 South Charter St., Monticello, IL. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, November 3, 2013, in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery. Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery of Neoga, Illinois.
