William Daniel "Bill" Lane 77, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 6:50 PM Tuesday August 22, 2023 in his residence surrounded by family. He was born July 5, 1946 in Dallas, Texas the son of William Thomas and Lillie Bernice (Hatten) Lane. Bill married Bonnie Sue Kimery May 29, 1970 in Charleston, Illinois. Mr. Lane proudly served in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam in the Ninth Infantry and was a former office clerk for H.W Clark Foundry, a warranty Manager for Fedders Corporation and a self employed Roofing Contractor. He was a former member of the Neoga Jaycees and coached boys little league baseball. Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lane of Neoga, Illinois; sons, Sean Michael Lane of Charleston, Illinois and Aaron Todd Lane (Audrienna "Lori") Lane of Neoga, Illinois; grandchildren, Olivia Grace Lane and Mikayla Nicole Lane both of Charleston, Illinois; sisters, Sharen Bullard of Neoga, Illinois, Wilma Trotter (Jerry) of Dix, Illinois, Rose Duckworth of Toledo, Illinois, Karen Robert of Neoga, Illinois, Josie Kimberlin of Boonveville, Mississippi, Dolly Nease (Tom) of Effingham, Illinois, June Morse of Toledo, Illinois and Linda Lane of Neoga, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jewel Lane; brother, Shawn Lane; grandfather Willis Hetzer grandmother, Mae Hetzer.
Memorials are suggested to the HSHS Hospice of Effingham, Illinois.
As per Bill’s wishes Cremation Rites will be accorded and Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday August 26, 2023 in the Calvary Tabernacle Church of Toledo, Illinois. Visitation will be held Saturday August 26, 2023 from 12:00 Noon until service time also in the Church. Burial will be in the Long Point Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois.
